Welcome to UW Strength Club

The UWSC facilitates a supportive gym environment for UW gym-goers. We aim to break down barriers for beginners, by teaching members how to lift weights in a safe and healthy manner. We especially make efforts to encourage more women to join the gym space and kickstart their gym journey. Our club encompasses different fitness disciplines including powerlifting, olympic lifting, bodybuilding, calisthenics, and general strength.

Come test your strength with our repetition rampage bench press competition. You will be benching 60% female / 70% male of your body weight for max reps. Max reps for female and male winners will receive prizes. Come out and see who the strongest bencher at UW is!

Presentation/seminar on principles of training for bodybuilding, program design, and how to best structure your gym time when prepping for a bodybuilding show in off season vs prep. This is followed by an active practical gym component where we will be putting in practice some of the hypertrophic principles and techniques discussed during the seminar.

Come learn how to do a full power clean and jerk with our Weightlifting execs including the mobility routine for weightlifting! Come to the UWSC tug of war challenge where you’ll compete in groups of 3 in a round robin elimination style. Test out the strength you’ve been training for! You may sign up in groups of 2,3 or individually. The winning team will receive prizes!
